I never thought Hohenheim’s reason was that bad. Maybe incorrect and shallow but it’s not terrible. He didn’t want his kids seeing him decay, and all the troubles related to it and his immortality. He still should have been in their lives though; send them a letter or something.

I think his reasons to leave were more legitimate in Brotherhood, but then again maybe even then I’m wrong for saying that. I can understand why he’d leave in the original. Maybe he could have handled it better buuut ya know what can ya do? Still, Trisha was very strong.
